So you’re writing a letter or pixeling an email ….
You’ve toiled for ages trying to pitch it properly, edit it and then proof it to make sure it’s error-free.
But there’s one more thing to decide…
What is the accepted way of signing off these days?
Do you use:
Yours faithfully
Yours sincerely
Kind regards
Regards
Best Wishes
What is appropriate?
Yours faithfully – for a formal letter that you’ve addressed “Dear Sir/Madam”
Yours sincerely – for a formal letter addressed to a named/particular person, a personal salutation
Kind regards, Regards or Best Wishes – when you now the person or you’ve previously ping-ponged emails or letters
Does this help clear things up for you?
